New Control Component Range for Integration with Low-Profile Data Entry Systems

GmbH & Co. KG based in Ravensburg, Germany, is the
first supplier to develop a control component range with an extremely
small depth behind panel of 9.2 mm which makes it suitable for combined
installation together with short-travel keys and other components on
the same printed circuit board. The RAFIX 22 FS system
comprises actuators and contact blocks. The actuators (pushbuttons, keylock
and selector switches, signal indicators and emergency stop) are in accordance
with the award-winning design of the RAFIX 22QR control components. They
are fastened on the front panel with a ring nut into a 22.3 mm panel
cut-out according to IEC 947. The cast-on collar seal made of thermoflex
material and an integral special sealing guarantee a water-jet proof
degree of protection IP65 to DIN. The contact blocks are soldered onto
the printed circuit board which can also accommodate other system components
such as short-travel keys, electronic components or displays. Illumination
of the actuators is provided by a 3 mm LED inserted and soldered into
the base of the contact block. The printed circuit board is fastened
to the front panel with bolts, with the contact blocks sliding completely
into the actuators. This makes the complete system extremely flat. Other
advantages are: Contact blocks do not need to be wired individually as
a result of the PCB mounting method and the PCB with the short-travel
keys and the electronic module does not need to be cut out for the control
components. The contact blocks are provided with gold contacts and designed
for low voltage (42V, 250 mW max.). The following contact arrangements
are available: 1 NC, 1 NO, 2 NC, 2 NO, 1 NC and 1 NO. The NC contacts
are positive opening according to EN 609 47-5-1 and can be used for emergency
stop functions.
