November, 2007 - MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - Switches Plus is pleased to introduce Visual Communication Company's new 2.5mm LMC Micro LitePipe for innovative LED light transmission applications.
The LMC’s diameter measures at just 2.54 millimeters (.100") , with a lens diameter of 3.18mm (.125") and is virtually unseen in the panel until the LED is activated. Upon activation of the LED, a LMC will provide a 160° viewing angle and help increase the LED's apparent brightness.
The LMC provides an effective method of transmitting light from the surface mounted or T-1 LED's to a panel display. Because there is no physical connection between the LITEPIPE® and board mounted LED, the circuit board can be installed or removed without disturbing the panel display.
LMC is available in six varying lengths from .200" to 1.20".
VERSATILITY - The 2.5mm LITEPIPE provides a method of transmitting the light from PCB mounted LED's to the front display panel. Both styles of LED's, surface mount, 3mm and 5mm standard packages can be displayed in this manner.
BRIGHTNESS - The LITEPIPE increases the apparent brightness and viewing angle of a PCB mounted LED. LITEPIPE transmits the light from the source to the lens, which in turn disperses the light up to 160 degrees.
APPLICATION - The 2.5mm LITEPIPE is available for use with both surface mount and standard package 3mm and 5mm LED's. Because there is no physical connection between the LITEPIPE and PCB mounted LED, the circuit board can be installed or removed without disturbing the panel display.
INSTALLATION - The LITEPIPE assembly is easily installed. Pass the LITEPIPE through the panel opening and press on the grommet retainer to secure unit to the panel. Slide PCB into position aligning LED with the end of the LITEPIPE.
